POSITION SUMMARY

Keewatinohk Inniniw Minoayawin (KIM) Inc. is a First Nations–led health organization working with 23 Northern Manitoba First Nations to transform health systems and improve access to high-quality, culturally grounded care.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of KIM. The CEO will lead the ongoing transformation toward a First Nations–governed health system, ensuring services are responsive to community priorities and grounded in cultural safety, equity, and self-determination.

The CEO works in close partnership with First Nations leadership, governments, and health system partners to advance integrated, accessible, and high-quality care across Northern Manitoba.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the transformation toward a First Nations–governed health system
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all programs and services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations leadership and communities
  • Negotiate and manage partnerships with federal and provincial governments
  • Oversee delivery and expansion of services, including:
    • Primary care and public health
    • Mental wellness and harm reduction
    • Jordan’s Principle and pediatric services
  • Ensure high-quality, culturally safe, and accessible care
  • Strengthen organizational performance, data systems, and accountability
  • Support the development of a strong and sustainable health workforce
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Senior executive leadership experience
  • 15+ years experience in health systems, healthcare delivery, or public health
  • Experience working with or alongside First Nations communities and leadership
  • Proven ability to lead complex organizations and large-scale transformation
  • Strong partnership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, anti-Indigenous racism, and equity

LOCATION
